Chamber Events

The Officer Installation Banquet is held each January to welcome the newly elected Chamber officers to the organization and recognize the accomplishments of the past year for the entire Chamber.  The dinner is also a chance to reconnect with members who may not be able to attend the monthly meetings.

Since 2012, the Festival of Tables has been a great fund raiser for the P.A.R.K. fund.  It’s such a well-attended event and so much fun that the Chamber hopes to continue the festival to raise funds for other projects.

For over thirty years the Easter Bunny has hopped into town on Easter weekend sharing candy and fun with the children of Upton at the beautiful City Park.  The “hunt” for goodies is over pretty quickly, so you’re going to have to be fast to get those memorable pictures.

Fun Days is the biggest, most involved event of the year for the Chamber of Commerce.  The weekend kicks off on the third Friday in July with various class reunions and get-togethers;  then it’s on to Saturday where, following an annual 5k scholarship run, the parade lines up at 10 o’clock sharp with floats decorated to match the chosen event’s theme.  The Citizen of the Year award is given out during the parade to a very deserving person each year, chosen by those who have held the honor previously.  After the parade, several activities get going including games in the City Park, buffalo burgers at Old Town, entertainment and refreshments at the Upton Senior Center, a golf tournament at Cedar Pines golf course, a rodeo gymkhana for the kids and roping for the big cowboys, and many, many other planned activities.  The celebration wraps up with a free BBQ in the City Park where anyone is welcome and the Chamber gets a chance to say “Thank You” to the Best Town on Earth.

When the temperature starts to cool and the leaves start to turn you know it’s time for the Fall Festival that is held each year in conjunction with the Rose Classic Car Show at the City Park. There’s an Art Show and vendors from the area set up booths around the park and sell trinkets, toys, homemade candles, jellies, and jewelry among other goodies. This is one of the biggest events held at the City Park and draws a great crowd each year.

Ho ho ho! Santa’s visit caps off the year in December at the Annual VFW Bazaar held at the Upton Community Center. Jolly Ol’ Saint Nick gives out bags of goodies and gets his picture taken with children of all ages. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, and even if you can’t quite bring yourself to sit pretty for a picture, everyone receives a goodie bag and lots of Christmas Cheer!
