The Upton Economic Development Board (UEDB) and Cobblestone Inn & Suites held a groundbreaking event on October 5 for a new hotel north of Highway 16 across from Tiger Transfer, the Upton Logistics Park. The hotel will sit on 4.98 acres with significant highway visibility and parking for RVs, trucks and buses. The two-story, 45-room, 23,000 square foot hotel is expected to take 9-12 months to complete.

“New development breathes life into a town, creates business and jobs growth and gives a community a sense of pride,” said UEDB executive director Stephanie Salazar.

In addition to the guest rooms, the Cobblestone Hotel will offer a conference room for up to 55 people, a fitness center, an onsite convenience store and guest laundry. Rooms will be a mix of King bed suites, double Queen bed suites and four two-room extended-stay suites. All rooms will have a microwave, mini-fridge and 40"-42" flatscreen TV, with the hotel. This hotel will have free WIFI, a guest business center, granite countertops throughout the property and a fireplace in the lobby.
