Weston County Gazette
PO Box 526 • Upton, WY 82730
(P) (307) 468-2642
The Weston County Gazette has been in print for 102 years. Clarence “Woody” Woodard purchased the newspaper in 1976; his daughter, Lisa LeVasseur took over the paper in 2001. This is a family-owned family-operated weekly newspaper. There are currently five people working the business, including three generations of the family, with the fourth generation liking to help out when there is no school.
The Weston County Gazette is the official newspaper for the Town of Upton, Weston County School District #7, and Weston County. They sell office supplies with special orders on request, make copies and provide a public fax service. They provide publication for all legal notices, report news, have an interesting collection of printing antiques in the front office, and bound copies of over one hundred years of issues of the paper.
The editor/owner Lisa LeVasseur (firstname.lastname@example.org) had this to say: “Weston County Gazette is providing the community with services that stand the test of time, because news on the internet is so temporary. Newspapers are the keepers of history.”
The Weston County Gazette is open Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Thursday and Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. It is located at 723 Second Street. 307-468-2642.
