At the Weston County School District #7 Trustee meeting on Wednesday evening, July 8th, Upton High School Principal Linda Crawford garnered an award from the Wyoming Department of Education—Perkins Coordinator of the Year. According to the Wyoming Department of Education, Perkins legislation provides an important opportunity to expand opportunities for every student to explore, choose, and follow career and technical education programs of study and career pathways to earn credentials of value.

Making the drive from Cheyenne to present the award to Principal Crawford at the meeting was Dr. Michelle Aldrich, Career and Technical Education Supervisor for the Department of Education.

Dr. Aldrich explained that Principal Crawford has worked tirelessly on the Perkins plan for many years. Crawford was unanimously picked by all three of the individuals from outside the Wyoming Department of Education that chose the Perkins Coordinator of the Year.
